Fazenda Castelhana, located in the Cerrado Mineiro, in Monte Carmelo, is at an altitude of approximately 980 meters, and has a flat topography, rainfalls between 1,400 and 1,500mm/year, with well defined rain and dry seasons, and with an annual average temperature of 21oC.
Diogo Tudela Neto already produced coffee in the State of Parana, but moved to the Cerrado Mineiro region, to avoid the risk of frosts. |
| When he arrived at the region, he had to invest heavily in technology, since at that time the Cerrado, although a promising region, was still land to be developed. According to the producer, the climate of the region allows high quality crops with naturally lower chances of errors than in other areas of Brazil. |
