ORIGIN

Fazenda Mimoso is the result of a joint venture between Alfenas Agrícola Ltda., of the Monte Alegre Group, which produces coffee, sugar and fuel alcohol on their plantations in the South Minas Gerais region, and Roland Veit, of Paragon Coffee Trading Co., one of the leading importers of Specialty Coffee in the North American market.

MISSION

Our mission is the production of high quality coffees to be exported to the American and European markets for Gourmet or Specialty coffees.

PRODUCT

Our plantations use state of the art technology for growing coffee under irrigation using the 'center pivot' automated system. Our coffee is prepared to meet or exceed the strict quality standards developed by the Brazil Specialty Coffee Association as well as those of the Specialty Coffee Association of America. We are capable of processing our coffee by three different methods:

Natural, the traditional way of producing full bodied Brazils; Pulped Natural, also known as semi-washed, a balanced coffee for sweet espresso; Fully Washed, as the mild Bahias were always produced.

LOCATION

Fazenda Mimoso is located at Mimoso do Oeste, in the Barreiras region, on the Western Bahia Highlands, 550 km from Brasília and 1.100 km from the port town of Salvador. On the banks of the Rio de Janeiro River, great care is taken to preserve the natural balance of the Cerrado environment of the region.
